Smooth transition
Battle Creek Enquirer, MI - 5 hours ago D'Quarius Yore, 10, never felt like the new kid on the block at Wilson Elementary Academy, even on his first day back to school in a different building.
While most of the furniture and classroom supplies traveled with teachers who moved to new schools, all three elementary buildings — Washington, Roosevelt and McKinley — remain vacant. "Several organizations have verbalized interest in the vacant buildings," said Superintendent Charles Coleman. "As discussions continue, we are awaiting possible offers to purchase those vacant schools. We'll evaluate all offers." Any decisions about selling the buildings will be made by the board of education.
